Photographer John Rafferty joins Irish Imagery
John started taking photos at the age of 10 with an old camera his parents gave him, ever since then he’s looked at everything around him with a view of how it would best look as a picture framed on a wall. He has spent some time doing freelance photo journalism for the Irish Skipper and Fishing News. He is an experienced sea angler and acts as both journalist and photographer for the Irish Angler’s Digest on a monthly basis. He has spent all his life on the rugged North West coast of Donegal in a small sleepy village called Burtonport. As a rule he never goes to sea without taking his camera with him. More recently John has been commissioned to do photography for Discover Donegal and North West Tourism.

Photographer Richard Wayman joins Irish Imagery
Richard Wayman has worked internationally over the last number of years predominantly on foreign news/features from Middle East, Central Asia and Eastern Europe. He has been extensively published in leading international magazines including Time, Newsweek and National Geographic. Richard has now made his home in Donegal and his work has moved more towards landscapes and the local environment. His latest show at the Earagail Arts Festival Entitled 'Faoi Scath a Cheile a Mhaireann na Daoine' which literally translates as 'people living in the shadow of each other' was hugely successful. Wayman's pictures seek to capture 'the essence of interaction' of a community caught between the past and the future.

Photographer Michael Diggin joins Irish Imagery
Michael Diggin’s interest in photography began at the early age of sixteen, photographing a myriad of subjects he viewed through the lens. Many disappointments, lots of film, frustration and experiments over many years finally bestowed him with the experience and technique, which has resulted in the recognition and accolades attributed to his photographic talents. It still entails being out before the dawn, waiting for dusk, traversing the highways and by-ways, from mountain tops and mountain valleys to capture those compositions that have become his creative signature.
